Abstract
The work deals with the history of ecclesial unions between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic church. It starts from the ancient miaphysite controversies, proceeding to the Byzantine period.
It then focuses on ecclesial unions in the context of the Brest union, the unions in the context of Oriental churches. It then proceeds to give a sketch on other unions in the church in other contexts and in the modern period.
