Abstrakt
The article deals with the history of Ethiopian monasticism and the possible influences on this monasticism from the Byzantine monastic tradition. It shows some influences of Byzantium on the development of Ethiopian monasticism but also it shows that the Ethiopian monastic tradition developed its own traditions.
