Voltammetric Determination of Amino Derivatives of Naphthalene Using Boron-Doped Diamond Film Electrode

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2012

Abstract

Amino derivatives of naphthalene are suspected mutagens and/or carcinogens, thus they are widely monitored in the environment as well as in biological liquids. Voltammetric behaviour of 1-aminonaphthalene and 2-aminonaphthalene was investigated using differential pulse voltammetry at boron-doped diamond film electrode.

The passivation of the electrode surface can be prevented by electrochemical activation at high anodic potential between individual scans. Optimum conditions for the determinations of studied analytes were estimated based on the influence of pH on the voltammograms in Britton-Robinson buffer.
