Use of amalgam and amalgam-based electrodes in the analysis of drugs and their metabolites

Abstract

Silver amalgam electrode is a sensor that is suitable for the determination of electrochemically active drugs. It may be in many cases used as a substitute of the conventional mercury electrodes and their modifications mainly carbon films allow to extend its use to more positive potentials than for mercury electrodes.
