The article continues the already in another paper to Libuše Moníková's Pavane für eine verstorbene Infantin (Pavane for a Dead Princess) (in: Zeitschrift für interkulturelle Germanistik 2/2012, Issue 2) started looking for the specifics of the so-called "migrant literature" or more accurately: a cross-cultural poetics. After a general introduction, which provides the specificity of "migrant literature" in the horizon of cultural memory in the translation of different national cultural fragments into each other and of an in this way established "third space" (Bhabha), is a small-scale reading of Yoko Tawada's early novel Das Bad (The Bath or The Bathroom, showing the constant undermining of first assumed dichotomies in favor of "figures of the third".
