The article deals with an important issue - manipulative behavior of teachers in Czech schools. We define manipulation as a special type of influence exerted intentionally by the manipulator on a manipulated person, which is motivated by goals of the manipulator and which objectifies the manipulated person.

Specifically, we study the relationship between manipulative behavior of teachers in relationship adults - children and chosen characteristics of the teachers. We assume that manipulative behavior of teachers is indicated by their degree of agreement with ten statements describing objectification of children.

The chosen characteristics of teachers are satisfaction with their job, (optional) education, gender, years of practice and type of school where they teach. For the analysis of the relationship, we use an ordered probit model.

At the end of our study, we interpret statistically significant relationships between manipulative behavior of teachers and their characteristics and also give recommendations concerning manipulation in educational settings.
