New Finds of Pilgrim Badges in Opava and Typology of Older Pilgrim Badges in Context of Pilgrimage to Aachen from the Czech Lands in the 14th Century

Abstract

The chapter is based on elaboration of new finds of medieval pilgrim badges in Opava from archaeological, historical and art historical point of view. It brings a suggestion of typology and chronology of Marian badges from Aachen and an outline of pilgrimage's historical context.
