Paralinguistic elements and their pragmatic aspects in teaching process

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2012

Abstract

This article deals with paralinguistic elements (intonation, timing, stress, loudness) and their pragmatic aspects. Changes in intonation, timing and stress have a great influence on perlocutionary effect of the speech act.

In lessons of Czech language at secondary school it is possible to do exercises with the students that enable them to analyse those changes.
