Hilarious chaos: some remarks on Beaumaurchais's Le Mariage de Figaro

Abstract

The contribution focuses on the analysis of the immediate historical and aesthetical context of the Beaumarchais's comedy Le Mariage de Figaro. A special attention is paid to the genetical links to what is commonly named "French preciosity" and also to the most prominent genre of "Les Lumières", eg. the novel in letters.
