Abstract
The article presents an edition of lettres by writer Jakub Deml with his long-standing friend, priest Vladimír Evermod Balcárek. Their mutual correspondence from 1905 to 1959 on the one hand records a lot of events from poet's private life, on the other hand it is a source for deeper understanding of his works.
The story of friendship between Jakub Deml and Eliška Wiesengerger, wife of prominent factory owner Otto Martin Wiesenberger in Žebrák in Bohemia and the biggest benefactress of Jakub Deml from 1912 to 1913, is probably the most dramatic part of the whole correspondence.
