Abstract

Production strain of the green alga Chlamydomonas cf. nivalis deposited in the Culture Collection of Autotrophic Organisms (CCALA ) at the Institute of Botany ASCR, Třeboň, Dukelská 135, strain number CCALA 970, Chlamydomonas cf. nivalis NEDBALOVA, 2011/1 that can be used as a source for industrial production of easily exctractable pure phosphatidylglycerol (PG) for chemical standards, pharmaceutical applications and other purposes. The solution also describes a method how to increase the content of PG and polyunsaturated fatty acids in this strain that consist in cultivation in high or low temperatures or in shifting high and low temperatures.
