Securing e-books

Publication at Charles University, Faculty of Arts |
2012

Abstract

For electronic books (e-books), issues include security of access to the document, authentication of readers and limited rights for use of the document (Digital Rights Management, DRM). The most common types of authentication used in libraries are Shibboleth and IP address authentication.

The most common types of DRM are proprietary browsers, Adobe DRM, e-book fragmentation, and social DRM. Securing e-books is used as a technique to ensure the copyright.
