Abstract

The article deals with the magisterial authority of two important representatives of the beginning of the Bohemian reformation: Jan Hus and Jerome of Prague. Based on the course of their studies, some of their texts, and their other activities, attention is drawn to individual - common as well as distinct - components of this authority.

It underlines particularly their work at the Prague University, national aspects of their performance, the importance of oration and of preaching and also the importance of their approach to the concept of truth.
