In the years 2002-2011 the Uzbek-Czech archaeological expedition worked in the southern Uzbekistan. Young research team from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague in cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan in Samarkand in 2002-2006 uncovered part of multicultural settlement Jandavlattepa in the Sherabad district.
In the years 2008-2011 then conducted with the support of Termez State University an archaeological mapping of entire Sherabad district. During these years twenty-five archaeologists, archeology students and other professionals (eg, surveyor, an anthropologist, conservator) from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan took part in the field work.
This exhibition presents a short overview of the work and the achievements of the expedition.
