Several Notes on the Systematics of Musicology: Guido Adler's and Hugo Riemann's Conceptions

Abstract

The article comments on the two projects concertning the systematics of musicology and its basic tasks that were formulated by Guido Adler (Umfang, Methode und Ziel der Musikwissenschaft, 1885) and Hugo Riemann (introduction to his essay Grundriss der Musikwissenschaft, 1908).
