Abstract
This monograph is based on years of research and study of Marker's work, and presents an overview of selected information, knowledge, and commentary, thus sparing anyone interested in Marker's work the time and effort they would otherwise have to expend wading through an overwhelming amount of data and information instead of letting themselves be carried away by legends - as the director himself had wished. This book presents the first Czech translations of his inspirational scripts to the imaginary films Soy Mexico and America Dreams.
It also contains includes several studies by foreign authors, offering among other things an original look at films such as La Jetée, Le Joli Mai, and Sans Soleil that Czech audiences are the most familiar with.
