Abstract

This article deals with the issue of literacy of deaf pupils, with their language competences in oral language as a prerequisite for their future employment, and acquiring information from written text. Author focuses on family background influence, on unaccessibility of Czech language to deaf people, on specifics of their reading ability and modified texts in relation to their professional education.
