English as a Medium of Instruction - Methodological Challenges

Abstract

As English rapidly takes precedence as the primary language of instruction at many European universities, we have to ask whether there is a price to pay for this change. The article reviews the beliefs and experiences of students and teachers of English language and linguistics at Charles University, Prague, who discuss the challenges they face with regard to instruction in English.

The study suggests some methodological implications for using English as a medium of instruction, and for its implementation at universities
