Abstract

The theoretical starting point of the paper is concept of excellence that is explained by four meanings: traditional, performative, psychologized, critical and describes advantages and limits of this concept. A changing identities and values in academic background are analysed.

Teaching innovation are reflected and teaching strategies supporting excellence in university teaching/learning which higher education pedagogy consider are offered. The paper suggests some answers for higher education excellence and some recommandations for staff development and improvement graduates quality.
