Abstract
The article describes the gradual development of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague since its inception in 1952 until the present. It focuses on the physical, mathematical and computer science departments.
It discusses in the greater detail the preparation for teaching of physics teachers by the Department of Physics Education and also the training of math teachers by Department of Mathematics Education.
