Abstract

Hearing loss is a symptom significantly limiting the quality of patient's life. Hearing disorders are divided into central and peripheral.

Peripheral are then divided on perceptual (cochlear and retrocochlear), conversion and mixed. Hearing evaluation is based on the history, otoscopy and audiometric examination.

Communication with people that arer hearing impaired requires a specific approach.
