The publication deals with lexical and word formation dynamics of two genetically close, but typologically different and geographically distant languages - Czech and Bulgarian. Emphasis is put on the central position of the media domain in contemporary public language communication.
The confrontation analysis is thus focused on lexical and word formation devices typical for contemporary media language. The particular manifestations and results of mutual interactions of innovation processes and tendencies are discussed in relation to typological dispositions of the Czech and Bulgarian language systems.
