Can Ideas of Pupils and Chemistry Teachers Correspond Each with the Other?

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2012

Abstract

One of the key problems of specialized didactics is the question what the pupils and students should be taught. For teachers, there are some more or less compulsory directives (e.g. curricula, standards, currently outputs of Frame-work Educational Program).

The aim of authors of this paper is (in the field of chemistry education) to find out the opinion of the other side, i.e. primary and secondary school pupils and the respondents with completed education that do not use chemistry in their profession. The research is focused on key stages of education in the Czech Republic: the end of the first and the second stage of primary school and the end of secondary grammar school.

Some proposals about possible modifications in university preparation of future chemistry teachers belong to results of this work.
