Abstract

A role of mathematical physics on the boundary between mathematics and physics is discussed. Mathematics is used in theoretical and mathematical physics in a different manner.

While mathematical physics is in its derivations and calculations adhering strictly to mathematical rigour, theoretical physics developed some sort of intuitive "practical mathematics" that, though resigning on a full rigour, often leads to discoveries of remarkable mathematical shortcuts.
