The Peak of the Bosnian Annexation Crisis in the Spring 1909

Abstract

The annexation of Bosnia and Herzegowina by the Austria-Hungary on October 6th, 1908 led to the dangerous international crisis, which reached his height at the turn of February and March 1909. Author of this study presents and analyzes the consequences of the ascension of new government in Belgrade, the importance of the attitude of Russia weakened by the defeat in the War with Japan and revolution, the development of Austro-Hungarian pressure on Serbia and suppport of Germany to the allied Austria-Hungary, what led to the diplomatic victory of Vienna and to the refusing of the Serbian compensation claims.
