Noise is an everyday companion of most people in today's society. It is a companion that is not only bothersome, but sometimes also lethal.
Transportation belongs among major sources of noise. To define what level of noise we will as a society accept and what level is unacceptable, it is essential to set te value of noise and compare it to the value of goods, which complete with noise regulation, viewed as a good, for available resources.
