The article deals with the question "Where should Czech geography go?". Its main objective is to challenge the fragmented postmodern alternative.
Instead of following postmodern Anglo-Saxon geography with its fragmentation and political activism, I propose a conflicting multi-polar shift with several epistemological positions. A more dominant focus on theory building and testing is perceived as a pathway to the integrative structuration of the field and also as the pathway to more intensive and productive contacts with practice
