The Educational Voyage of Abbot Benedictus Johnsdorf. Some Thoughts on the Univesitary Studies of Silesian Clergymen

Abstract

The Augustinian abbot in Wroclaw Benedictus Johnsdorf (+ 1503) wrote two chronicles - the first one on history of his own monastery, the second one on Czech history. He was well prepared for his ecclesiastical and historiographical activities by his universitary studies in Kraków, Wien and Leipzig.

The study specifies the details of his academic peregrination and examines the manuscripts connected with his studies and literary activities.
