Abstract
The study is dealing with the characterisation of Christians as the royal Priesthood in Peter 2:1-10. The goal, that the author is aiming, is to underline the dignity of Christians as a whole in the situation of their discrimination by the major society and of the loss of a perspective of the near coming of the Lord.
This dignity is built in the text on the Old Testament's characteristics of people of God.
