Synopsis of the Iberian Chelotrupes Jekel, 1866 species is presented. Chelotrupes algarvicus sp. nov., C. brancoi sp. nov. and C. feryi sp. nov. (all from Portugal), C. hendrichi sp. nov. and C. kyliesi sp. nov. (both from Spain) are described.
Chelotrupes laevipennis (Mulsant et Godart, 1855) is removed from synonymy with C. momus (Olivier, 1789) and regarded as a valid species. Neotypes for Ceratophyus laevipennis Mulsant et Godart, 1855, Ceratophyus Momus var.
Momoides Reitter, 1893 and Geotrupes andalusiacus Fairmaire, 1869 are designated. Geotrupes andalusiacus is considered a synonym of Ceratophyus laevipennis.
