Abstrakt
The essay is focused on Luigi Pirandello's novel The Olds and the Youngs written in 1909 and speaking about political, ideological and moral consequences of the Italian Risorgimento in Sicily. By the analysis of characters of the novel is illustrated Pirandello's humouristic representation of the reality which accentuates a subjective and individual vision of the History.
The essay also considers how Pirandello through the use of polyphonic narrative technique creates an image of the disintegrated reality where every collective experience is composed of infinites individual illusions.
