This work is concerned with numerical solution of the air-wing interaction. We deal with 3D compressible viscous flow in a time-dependent domain.

The flow is described by equations representing conservation laws - the Navier-Stokes equations, the continuity equation and the energy equation together with some boundary conditions and an initial condition. We solve this system of partial differential equations by the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method (DGFEM).

This numerical method is suitable for high-order space discretization and for the use on unstructed grids. Since we assume the time-dependent domain, we have to apply a suitable technique working on moving meshes.

Here the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method is used.
