MEMORY TOO MUCH UNDERESTIMATED

Abstract

Contemporary neuropsychological researches have shown the possibilities of cognitive enrichment by training basal cognitive function. It has been shown connection between working memory and fl uid intelligence.

Th ese fi ndings are consistent with imaging researches. Th e brain area connected with working memory and fl uid intel- ligence are overlap.

Th ere are several programs with diff erences in some areas - adaptability, training duration, tasks types, infl uence on fl uid intelligence etc. Th e other diff erence is direction to target group.

Many studies in- vestigate children with ADHD or children with lower capacity of working memory. It was not found any studies with children from lower level of sociocultural background.

By this reason we decided to design working memory training program directed to training of these children and consequently to verify the effi cacy of training working memory in this group.
