Abstract
Since the 1980's, usage of various types stents (braces) has entered clinical practice in the field of hepatology. New materials and new technologies of production have been developed and the indications for the stent usage are getting increasingly wider over time.
Just as other fields of intensive medicine, hepatology is becoming increasingly invasive, thanks to these new technologies, and solutions to situations that were difficult or impossible to solve in the past are quickly becoming a routine part of clinical practice.
