Notes about occurrence of rare water bird species in the Vrbenské rybníky nature reserve in the period 2002-2012

Abstract

In this paper I summarise records of selected 24 rare water bird species in the Vrbenské rybníky nature reserve in the period 2002-2012 with emphasis on breeding species. Furthermore, I present 11 new species, which had not been recorded until 2001 in the area in question.

Altogether 202 bird species have been recorded in the Vrbenské rybníky nature reserve up to the end of August in 2012. Detailed information and ethological notes are given for the more extraordinary observations.
