Abstrakt
The paper gives an overview of the topics discussed at the phraseological conference EUROPHRAS 2012 held in Maribor and draws conclusions for the future development within the field. The overarching theme, phraseology and culture, showed the tendency to include knowledge from other disciplines.
However, a general, widely accepted theory of phraseology that would for example enable measuring the "degree of phraseologicity/idiomacity" of texts is still lacking. The focus of phraseology, though, seems to be shifting from the exception to the standard language use and the tendency to use corpus-based, automatized approaches to identify phraseological units clearly seems to be on the rise.
