The authors would like to support the solution of this problem proposed by Fery (BZN 69: 128-136) in the interest of nomenclatural stability, as the name A. fimetarius will be used for a species which Fery called 'with red elytra' (and not 'with yellowish-red elytra'), which has, according to the current knowledge, a more northern distribution and is the only species occurring in Sweden, thegenerally assumed locus typicus of Scarabaeus fimetarius (Bellmann et al., BZN 69: 136-138; Rößner, 2012).
