This floristic contribution summarizes unpublished and recently confirmed records of the occurrence of rare, overlooked and other floristically interesting plants in the Sedlčany region and adjacent part of the Vltava River valley (Central Bohemia). We put a special emphasis on taxonomically critical groups; in most cases these have been revised by a specialist.
We present data on the occurrence of 360 taxa of vascular plants. 133 of them are on the Red list of the Czech Republic. Most of records come from more or less relic habitats in the Vltava River valley, wet meadows, and ruderal or weed plant communities.
Blysmus compressus, Caucalis platycarpos, Filago lutescens, Gagea villosa, Hieracium kalksburgense, Malus sylvestris, Montia hallii, Orchis ustulata, Potamogeton acutifolius, Potentilla lindackeri, Rubus hadracanthos, and Valerianella rimosa represent the most valuable records. Nowadays, the Sedlčany region can be regarded as an area which is quite well examined botanically.
