Abstract
People are sensitive to characters such as body size or degree of facial masculinity. These features correlate with the dominance of men, with their ability to succeed in a physical confrontation or a predisposition to aggressive behavior.
Intra sexual competition in terms of physical confrontation between men is very energetically "expensive" and may result in damage to one's health and in extreme cases even death.
