Abstract
Albania is a country where western and eastern cultures meet. This cultural synthesis had a significant impact on all areas of Albanian arts.
Piano enriches the spectrum of Albanian musical instruments at the end of the 19th century and until 1960s was mainly used for accompaniment. Due to establishment of the State Conservatory in Tirana, piano became a solo concert instrument.
The era of the communist regime was the most productive period for Albanian piano literature.
