Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2012

Abstract

The author deals with issues (i) what to teach social workers, (ii) who is to be educated to social work, (iii) how to educate social workers, and (iv) who is to educate them. He ends up with proposing to differentiate titles for graduates of differend levels of education, i.e. (i) social assistant of secondary school graduates (as in Great Britain), (ii) social worker for graduates of lower university and comparable education and (iii) social worker - specialist for graduates of higher university education (or socionom as in Sweden).

He further recommends to call social work Socionomia or socionomics, as parallel to economics.
