It seems that value-laden theories are not easily acceptable to the Social Work practice in the Czech scene and that particularly ethical theories are still looking for their place. The contribution will discuss some of the factors that are important for their effective use, such as a) explication of ethical theory as a specific instance of a theory, b) deeper understanding of the nature of ethics in the context of critical reflective practice and c) further specification of ethical dilemma and problem.
There will be some arguments given for seeing ethical theory as contributing to successful linking of Theory and Practice in Social Work.
