Abstract
During the process of unification of Italy we can find proved contacts with Bohemian countries. What is well know is the captivity of Italian patriots on the castle Špilberk in Brno.
Another example is Garibaldi. He featured in Bohemian literature.
At least one Czech was a member of Garibaldi's expedition of the "Thousand". Of the other hand lot of the Bohemian people participated in the battles against Italian army especially in the army of Marshal Radecky.
Italians events were also noticed in the Czech daily press.
