Abstract
The text introduces "The Framework of the Teacher's Professional Qualities" as an important means of support of the professionalization of the teacher's job in the Czech Republic. It is a tool for complex evaluation and self-evaluation of the teacher's work quality which arose from the project "The Road to Quality".
A qualified committee proposed a definition of quality of professional activities of elementary and high-school teacher, and subsequently tested the tool at selected schools in the Czech Republic. The Framework aims to support the professional development of both beginning and experienced teachers.
It is also useful in teacher-training and it can ensure continuity of education. The text describes the various ways the tool can be employed in teacher-training and further professional development.
