Abstract
The author of this chapter describes the structure of the university education in the Czech Republic. The structure of the tertiary education is divided into trade colleges and university education.
The situation in the period of political changes after the year 1989 is described. Finally, the question "Why is it necessary to reform the university education in the Czech Republic" is analysed.
