Sacrifice in Israel with regard to the Ugaritic texts

Abstract

There are two types of sacrifice found in the 19-th chapter of Leviticus the so called " Everyday Life Order ". 1. 19, 5-8: shelamim - a peace offering, or better communion offering. This type of sacrifice is present in the Ugaritic ritual texts.

In Leviticus is new aspekt - a special relationship between God and his holy people. Lv 19, 20-22: Asham sacrifice - a guilt offering; ram sacrifice and Atonement in the Old Testament and Ugaritic liturgical texts.
