Chapter in a collective monograph is devoted to sacred sites and miraculous images and sculptures in western Bohemia and Bohemian Forest, on the basis of historical sources and literature. In the first part of the chapter I discuss cult places associated with both actual and legendary stays of saints in western Bohemia.
Particular attention is paid to how this often legendary stay is reflected in the iconography of churches and chapels. In the second part, I discuss in detail especially the typology and the cult of miraculous images and sculptures in western Bohemia.
