Czechoslovak delegation set out to Egypt in 1956 to prepare the cultural agreement between the Czechoslovak republic and Egypt. They were preparing cultural relations including exchange of students and teachers.
Two Czechoslovak Egyptologists became an important part of the delegation. F.
Lexa and Z. Žába were discussing mainly the foundation of the institute of Egyptology and possibility for excavation in Egypt. After their return to Prague, they made the draft for the agreement.
