The Beautiful Madonna and mediaeval emotions - Tension between form and content

Abstract

The article deals with issues of perception of cult images in the Middle Ages, specifically examples of the Beautiful style. In addition, attention is paid to the so-called devotional Beautiful style copies of works from the Prague area.
