In this paper we summarize efforts of our research group on web semantization-process of increasing the degree of automation of web processing-and some of its applications. We present several methods for mining textual information and assisted annotations as we believe this should be the first steps towards the semantic web.
Then several methods for processing the gathered data are described. The proposed methods mainly aim on modeling user and his/her preferences and then helping them with reaching their goals.
We focus on the complex environment of the web semantization as a wider context where both tools providing and consuming semantical data are placed.
